Story
In December of 2022 Grayson was diagnosed with T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). At that time, testing also showed a medial mass that was putting pressure on his heart and lungs. At the end of December Grayson started his 1st round of chemo treatments and steriods to fight the leukemia and shrink the mass. Chemo treatments the past 9 months have been full of many ups and downs for Grayson and his family. Grayson has continued to fight fevers, low white blood cell counts, and uncomfortable side effects due to the Chemo. Recently in his 3rd round of Chemo he has been in a tough bout of high fevers, low energy, and low oxygen that has caused him many nights spent in Iowa City.
On the bright side, U of I hospitals has brought Grayson some sweet opportunities to meet and hang out with the Iowa Wrestling team, score a visit with womens basketall star Caitlin Clark and enjoy a specatular view of an Iowa Hawkeye Football game. He is one of the strongest kids I know and has been dealt a hand that nobody would have imagined.
His family has taken a huge and unexpected financial burden in caring for Grayson during this time as Kelsey(Mom) runs her own hair salon in Cedar Rapids and has rescheduled or worked double shifts to continue to provide for her family and care for her clients. Step Dad (Lucas) has spent time countless hours supporting Grayson through hospital visits, as well as picking up the workload at home and providing additional support for Graysons younger brother and sister Bennett and Maya. Dad (Matt) has also spent countless hours supporting Grayson through hospital visits and care at home. The whole family can use our thoughts, prayers and support as they continue to work through the ongoing stages of Grayson's health journey.
In addition to your thoughts and prayers, if you are able, please help us in supporting his cause financially through the ways below:
