The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls is a Masonic youth service organization that teaches leadership and self-growth through community service. Young women learn about the value of giving back through their work and involvement with statewide and local service projects.
Each year, the Rainbow Girl who holds the highest office in the state (known as the Grand Worthy Advisor) chooses an organization to support as her statewide project. The organization may be selected for any reason, but is usually one that the Grand Worthy Advisor holds close to her heart.
This year's state project supports the Indian Creek Nature Center in Cedar Rapids. Their mission is to promote a more sustainable future through environmental education, land protection and restoration, and the encouragement of responsible human-nature interaction. The Grand Worthy Advisor, who grew up learning to love nature through her experiences at and around the Nature Center, is excited to raise funds and awareness to further the Center's mission.
