Story

Jaidyn was born with bright blue eyes and an incredible sense of wonder about the world around her. When we were told that she was legally blind, our family's lives changed forever. It taught us to slow down, appreciate the little things, and take the time to explain and describe the world she was so curious to explore.

Even from a young age, we knew Jaidyn was seeing more than the doctors ever expected she would. Along with her vision diagnosis, we were informed that she could gradually lose the sight she had and might someday face kidney-related health challenges. Although we were aware of the risks, we always hoped those complications would never become a reality.

Unfortunately, in 2025, lab results revealed that Jaidyn had developed kidney failure. Throughout the year, she endured countless medical appointments, tests, and procedures. This meant missing many of the activities she loved most, including archery, orchestra, and horseback riding.

As her health declined, we spent countless hours researching every option available, determined to find the best path forward and honor Jaidyn's wish to delay surgery if possible. Through that journey, we discovered an incredible opportunity that offered a different approach to improving her health, one that did not involve spending her life in a hospital bed.

That opportunity led us to Texas, where we traveled during the winter and returned for the entire summer to receive specialized care. The good news is that Jaidyn's health is improving, and we are grateful for the progress she has made. However, she still has a long road ahead. With continued treatment, determination, and support, we remain hopeful that she can continue gaining strength and living the life she loves.
