LifeGuard's Salute to Veterans

Story

UnityPoint Health LifeGuard Air Ambulance has been serving the Cedar Rapids and surrounding community since 1979. For over four decades it has been LifeGuard’s mission to provide the best care to each and every one of our patients. It is our honor to provide critical care transport for 911 calls throughout our community as well as interfacility transports throughout Eastern Iowa. We believe that everyone deserves the care that we would want our loved ones to receive. 

LifeGuard has joined forces with CAUSETEAM to raise money for both LifeGuard and Salute to the Fallen to support local veterans and their families. Salute to the Fallen, founded by an Army veteran  is a newly developed 501 C3 non-profit corporation serving local veterans, active duty personnel, first responders and their families by bringing awareness and financial assistance to multiple military causes, including Gold Star Families, veteran suicide, PTSD, homelessness and much more.

As an Army veteran who has faced some of these challenges since being honorably discharged from the Army, he has real life experience with the lack of awareness and community support around the difficulties that those who serve face daily. Through his personal experience he has identified a major gap in resources available to the soldiers, veterans and their families that need them most.

It is the mission of Salute to the Fallen to fill that gap and cultivate a sense of community and belonging among our military heroes and their families, while providing them the tools and resources they need to succeed in transitioning back to civilian life.
