Story

As many of our family and friends know, we started our adoption journey right after we got married in October 2020. After months of research and "agency shopping" to figure out what program was best for us, we decided to do international adoption from Colombia. Our hope is to adopt 2-3 siblings so that they are able to stay together.

We've had some hurdles to overcome and delays to (impatiently!) wait through, but we're now in the thick of it! Over the last 6 months, we have completed countless training classes about parenthood, interracial adoption, trauma, and more. We have also completed a mile high stack of paperwork (mostly digitally... thank goodness for the trees!).

Now we're nearing the end of our homestudy -- meaning a social worker will visit and inspect our home, interview us, and ultimately determine the profile of child(ren) we're able to adopt. Including: age, gender, abilities, medical history, number of kiddos, etc. Before we're able to start this step, we'll have a $2,500-$2,900 "Homestudy Fee" coming our way. 40% of our campaign sales will go toward this fee!
