Story

Five years ago, I received a kidney transplant, freeing me from a lifetime genetic disorder.  I was struggling to stay away during the day, complete basic tasks, let alone be there for my wife, my kids, and my job.  Since then, I am healthy, active, and have formed a bond with a new family, those who knew and loved Kennedy Bowles, my donor.  Her sacrifice saved my life and I will never forget it.  Her memory, and my experiences has led me to become a board member for the Iowa Donor Network and a member of Team Iowa. By purchasing a shirt, you help me participate in the 2026 Donate Life Transplant Games of America, an international event taking place in Denver this Summer.

Team Iowa celebrates the gifts of organ, eye and tissue donation and encourages others to register as a donor. By competing in the Transplant Games of America we honor our donors, our donor families and celebrate life. The team consists of athletes and support members who participate in various events at the Transplant Games of America. Our athletes have received an organ, bone marrow, tissue or corneal transplant or are a living donor.
