Story

It's been a year...and some.

July 1st I celebrated my first "re birth day". It was a stormy day in a park in Shakopee, MN. I was surrounded by my closest friends and family. I could not believe how the rain was coming down, but it didn't stop the celebration. The sun broke as soon as the party ended. It felt fitting, as a year ago this day was the worst day for so many and then there was some sun shine of hope. I am so thankful for those that saved me and gave me a second change to live my life. I want to continue to save more people and the world by inspiring them to learn CPR and AED use!

There was a recent article in the Shakopee, MN newspaper telling our community we needed new AED's. I cut it out and put it on my fridge. I wanted to help raise the money and more importantly, wanting to teach our community about how to use the AED's and bystander hands-only CPR...I thought we could have another Pump & Pints.

Pump & Pints is an event I created last year to raise awareness of bystander hands-only CPR and early defibrillation with the AED, all while having fun in a stress free environment with your friends, family and neighbors at a BREWERY. Get it?? Pump (CPR) and Pints (beer)??!! I contacted they amazing staff at Shakopee Brewhall and they were thrilled to host the event. ALL proceeds from this will be going to the city of Shakopee to purchase new AED's.

The Be Brave shirts and merch are for sale again!!! All proceeds from this fundraiser will be going to Shakopee to purchase new AED's. The Be Brave/Heart design is to raise awareness of the importance of CPR and early defibrillation. I also want it to empower others to do something when someone needs help. ANYTHING you can do will help, give someone a chance at survival, you could help save their world.

So..LETS DO THIS. Lets get Shakopee some new AED's!!!! AND lets get our community to learn CPR!!!!

January 22, 2022 2022…Now What

{It’s been a bit since my last post. Thank you for continuing to support me and my mission to bring SCA awareness and the importance of bystander CPR and AED use. Since COVID has happened, my mission has not stopped. It is getting stronger. I have started to spread the word doing small, intimate classes with HUGE conversations. These are perfect for your group of friends, neighbors, office mates and whom ever you want to know to save a life! All money that will be raised is going to the American Heart Association to continue there amazing work to study heart disease.}

February 2018 Update

{February 2018 My Journey Continues... As I write this, I am 7 months old. I was informed that I have two birthdays now, one when my mother gave birth to me and the other is when God gave me heros and technology to bring me back to life. This past weekend I met a group of people that welcomed me with open arms. They found out “what I was” and congratulated me and hugged me and called me a miracle. I didn’t know what to do so I hugged them back, said “thank you” and cried, a lot. I felt like I belonged with them. The energy of our hearts connected us all (and all of us have a pacemaker/ICD…so LOTS of potential electricity). This group of people are the SURVIVORS of sudden cardiac arrest. I am going to join in the monthly meetings and continued education of CPR and AED. They have support groups for family and friends, they have friendships, they have something in common with me. I now belong to the Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Survivors Network. You can become members too, family and friends encouraged. February is HEART month, fitting because everything in February is full of love and hearts and even arrows because of Valentines day. I used to not like Valentines day, but this year I changed my mind. I love the hearts, I love the arrows, I love the “I love you’s”, I love the LOVE! I also love supporting the American Heart Association (AHA)-which celebrates in so many ways in the month of February. This is how I met my survivor network. The boys, Bravo included, went to the Mall of America on Saturday to visit the AHA and practice CPR with the boys. Jack and I had our One Mission heart/be brave shirts on, learning CPR from Eugene and Natasha came over and asked about our shirts. She LOVED them. Jack proudly said “My mom had a Sudden Cardiac Arrest”. American Heart Association is having its annual TWIN CITIES HEART WALK on May 5th in Minneapolis. I want to continue to raise money to give back to them. More importantly, I want YOU to walk with me. Together we can live a heart healthy life and continue to become healthy!! We will not only raise funds, but raise heartbeats!! BE BRAVE HEART shirts will be available again!! These shirts sparked a conversation that led me to the survivors network. These shirts are bringing awareness to SCA and the importance of CPR and early defibrillation. They are empowering people to BE BRAVE. They are getting people talking, asking questions, sharing…they are perfect!! Help me in continuing to raise awareness of sudden cardiac arrest, the importance of CPR and early defibrillation and my ongoing mission to be heart healthy!!! All proceeds will be given to my HEART WALK TEAM to support the American Heart Association!!!}
