Story

Community Health Initiative, Haiti’s (CHI) goal in partnering with our dear friends at CAUSETEAM is to support our efforts to provide continuous primary healthcare through medical/surgical clinics and Community Health Workers, and to address the biological, social, and environmental causes of disease through community-directed development projects. CHI believes health is not simply the absence of disease, but the ability to fulfill human potential. To that end, we are proud of our recycling center providing employment for community members and turning trash into cash; water treatment programs; construction of 60 eco-composting latrines by our Haitian staff to supply sanitation and dignity to families; and our Community Health Workers who are literally saving lives with our Helping Babies Breathe program.
